📋 Detailed Purpose & Use Case

Use this form to claim your lifetime monthly pension under the Employees' Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) once you complete 10 years of eligible service and reach 58 years of age (or 50 years for a reduced early pension), or in the event of permanent disability, or as a nominee/dependent upon a member's death.

🔒 Mandatory Eligibility Criteria

Member must have completed a minimum of 10 years of pensionable service.

Member has attained 58 years of age (for superannuation pension) or 50 years of age (for reduced early pension).

In case of permanent and total disablement during service, pension is payable immediately regardless of service age or tenure.

In the event of a member's death, family pension is payable to the surviving spouse and children.

📝 Documents & KYC Seeding Requirements

Duly filled physical Form 10D (mostly filed offline or via specialized employer routing).

Three copies of passport-sized photographs of the member (or joint photo with spouse if alive).

Descriptive roll of the member showing specimen signatures, left-hand thumb impression, and personal identification marks.

🌐 How to Submit Online (Fast Track)

Online submission is highly recommended by EPFO. It bypasses physical employer approvals if your Aadhaar is successfully linked.

EPFO now allows online filing of Form 10D through the Member Portal in specific automated cases.

If eligible (exit date updated, age > 50, service > 10 years), 'Form 10D' will appear in the claim dropdown.

Select 'Form 10D' and enter your bank account digits to verify.

Provide details of spouse and children, choose the preferred pension bank branch, and submit using Aadhaar OTP.

Use this method only if you cannot access the online portal, or if your Aadhaar is not linked to your UAN.

Download and print the official Form 10D PDF from our portal.

Complete all columns with precision: bank details, family history, and scheme certificate references.

Affix your passport size joint photograph (with spouse) in the designated box.

Sign the form and obtain the signature and stamp of the employer (or bank manager if employer's firm is closed).

Submit the complete set along with original bank passbook copy and Aadhaar to the jurisdictional Regional EPFO Office.

What is the difference between Superannuation and Early Pension? ▼

Superannuation pension starts at age 58. Early pension can be claimed between the ages of 50 and 57, provided you have exited service. However, early pension is reduced by 3% for every year you are short of 58 years (e.g., claiming pension at age 50 results in a permanent 24% reduction in your monthly payout).

Can my children receive a pension under Form 10D? ▼

Yes. Upon the death of a member, the spouse receives a monthly widow/widower pension, and up to two children receive a child pension (equal to 25% of the spouse's pension amount) until they reach 25 years of age. If a child is disabled, they receive pension for lifetime.

How is the monthly pension amount calculated? ▼

The monthly pension is calculated as: (Pensionable Salary x Pensionable Service) / 70. The Pensionable Salary is capped at a maximum of ₹15,000 per month (unless higher pension is opted), and the maximum pensionable service credited is 35 years.
