📋 Detailed Purpose & Use Case

Use this form after leaving a job to either withdraw your accumulated Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) balance in a lump sum, or secure a Scheme Certificate to carry forward your pensionable service history to your next employer.

🔒 Mandatory Eligibility Criteria

Member must have exited service and updated their Date of Exit.

Continuous service must be less than 10 years (lump sum pension withdrawal is legally barred if service is 10 years or more).

Minimum eligible service must be at least 6 months (180 days). If service is less than 6 months, no pension amount can be claimed or withdrawn.

🌐 How to Submit Online (Fast Track)

Online submission is highly recommended by EPFO. It bypasses physical employer approvals if your Aadhaar is successfully linked.

Log into the EPFO Member Unified Portal using your credentials.

Verify that your Date of Exit is officially updated in your profile profile page.

Click 'Online Services' and choose 'Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C & 10D)'.

Enter the last 4 digits of your registered bank account and click 'Verify'. Accept the undertaking.

Click 'Proceed for Online Claim'.

Under 'I want to apply for', choose 'Only Pension Withdrawal (Form-10C)' from the dropdown list.

Enter your residential address and upload the digital copy of your cancelled cheque or passbook.

Click the checkbox, request 'Aadhaar OTP', enter the code sent to your phone, and submit.

Can I withdraw my pension money if my service is more than 10 years? ▼

No. Once your cumulative continuous service exceeds 10 years, you are legally prohibited from withdrawing your pension balance in a lump sum. You must apply for a Scheme Certificate. This certificate secures your pension record so that you can receive a monthly lifetime pension from the EPFO once you attain 58 years of age.

What is the benefit of taking a Scheme Certificate? ▼

A Scheme Certificate acts as proof of pensionable service history. If you switch jobs before completing 10 years of total service, submitting this certificate lets you add your previous service duration to your new job. It also provides insurance coverage benefits (EDLI) and family pension benefits in case of the member's untimely death.

What happens to my pension if my service is less than 6 months? ▼

If your service is less than 6 months (180 days of active contribution), your pension contribution is forfeited under EPFO rules. You cannot withdraw any amount under Form 10C, and no scheme certificate will be issued for that short tenure.
