How to View Your Passbook Online
The EPFO provides a dedicated portal just for viewing passbooks. It is separate from the main Unified Member Portal, though it uses the exact same UAN and Password.
- Activate your UAN: If you haven't already, you must activate your UAN on the main portal.
- Wait 6 Hours: After UAN activation or a password reset, it takes exactly 6 hours for the new credentials to sync with the Passbook portal.
- Visit the Portal: Go to the official EPFO Passbook Website.
- Login: Enter your UAN, Password, and solve the math Captcha.
- Select ID: Choose your current or previous Member ID (Company) from the dropdown list.

Understanding Your Balance
Employee Share (EE):
12% of your Basic Salary. This is fully refundable with interest.
Employer Share (ER):
3.67% of your Basic Salary. This matches your contribution portion.
Pension Contribution (EPS):
8.33% of your Basic Salary (capped). This goes to your retirement pension fund.
