EPFO has launched Aadhaar-based face authentication via the UMANG app to verify identity for online claims.
This removes the need for OTP-based authentication in cases where mobile numbers are not accessible, provided the biometric data matches the UIDAI database. It speeds up verification and reduces fraud.
