The Government of India continues to provide a minimum monthly pension of ₹1,000 to EPS pensioners from the Employees Pension Fund.
This applies to pensioners whose calculated pension falls below ₹1,000/month. The government subsidizes the shortfall to ensure social security for low-income retirees.
